How to get over someone.
1. Remind yourself why you broke up. It’s so easy to fall back into the memories of the good times. And when those thoughts come flooding back, you’ll want to call/text/email/screw your old partner in crime. Don’t do that. At those times, whip out a piece of paper and a pen — or maybe just your mobile device — and make a list of reasons your relationship didn’t work. Continually remind yourself: “It’s f*ckin’ broken. Chill.”
2. Call your friends. Use this time to reconnect with old friends and make some new ones. You need to practice relationship-building — preferably with people you’re not sleeping with. Cups of coffee, funny movies, and trips to the mall are good for this offline social networking.
3. Pick a project. You’ve got some extra time on your hands? Time to revisit something you’ve wanted to do, but never made time for. Whether it’s a blog, training for a marathon, or just making your own beaded jewelry, get to it!
4. Smile at cute strangers. You’re available. Let them know.
5. Keep moving forward. Life should be a progression, not a regression. Don’t fall back into the laps of guys/girls who didn’t appreciate you before. Even if just for a good lay. What feels good today may hurt like hell tomorrow.
